It has been reported that only a small percentage of IT managers understand the risks associated with Web 2.0 services. Web 2.0 differentiates sites that offer interactive services and on-line applications from the flat format information pages that make up the bulk of marketing focused web sites.
Recent surveys have confirmed that whilst the pressure on IT Managers to allow access to web applications is rapidly increasing, the level of awareness of potential risks is lagging behind. A number of vendors provide easy to deploy solutions to these risks. Therefore, once IT personnel become aware of the problem the remedy is quick to implement.
